Wasatch Mountain State Park is home to two enjoyable golf courses, the Lake and Mountain courses. The setting is in the cool mountains around 6,000 feet above sea level. It is very nice to leave the heat of the Salt Lake valley head up to the cool mountains at Wasatch State Park for a round or two of golf.
The Mountain Course is a par-71 track which features some tight driving with tree lined holes, as well as some dramatic elevation changes.
The Lake Course (my preferred course of the two) is a very nice par-72 track. The course also features mountain style tree lined holes which put a premium on hitting the fairway. The greens are always very smooth but receptive to good golf shots.
Best time to play these courses are during the summer, when it is too hot to play at lower altitudes, and especially in the fall when the trees are changing color (see photo).
